Chance the Rapper gets ‘goosebumps’ as he celebrates engagement at party

Chance The Rapper was left with “goosebumps” as he celebrated his engagement to girlfriend Kirsten Corley at a party on Sunday night (14Oct18).

The hip-hop star, who popped the question to Kirsten in July (18), took to Twitter to mark the occasion, writing: “I have slight goosebumps. I’m at MY engagement party surrounded by my family and best friends and the woman I need. I feel so honoured and God just real talk has a plan for me and like I just needed to let him guide me real talk Just had to share that, done wit teitter (Twitter) for the day (sic).”

Further details about the party, such as where it was held and who attended, have yet to be revealed.
Chance’s brother Taylor Bennett shared the engagement news on Instagram earlier this year, uploading a video of the musician getting down on one knee during a backyard barbecue.

Family and friends could be heard cheering for Chance, real name Chancelor Jonathan Bennett, as he asked, “Kirsten Katrina Corley, will you make me a man and be my wife?”

Chance, 25, and Kirsten, who share three-year-old daughter Kensli, have been an item since 2013, but they have endured some rocky moments in their romance.

Six months after Kensli was born, Kirsten filed papers in a Chicago court asking lawmakers to identify her as the “sole caretaker” of their daughter. She also filed a request for child support.

A month later, she withdrew the documents, claiming she and the No Problem hitmaker were living together and would share responsibility.

However, a month after that, Kirsten filed new documents stating they were no longer living together.

By January of 2017, she withdrew the filing and maintained that they had reconciled, but a month later the child support case was back in court. It was settled independently in March 2017. The couple reportedly came to an agreement that would leave “substantial parenting time for both”.
