British actors Nigel Havers and Ben Cross, who played two athletes competing in the 1924 Olympics, attended a showing of the digitally-enhanced 1981 movie, released to coincide with the 2012 Games in London, which start later this month (Jul12).
Cross paid tribute to another Chariots of Fire co-star, Ian Charleson, who died in 1990.
He says, “Ian would be thrilled if he were here today, he’d be slightly overwhelmed, but I actually get the feeling he’s here with us all tonight, in spirit. We all miss him terribly.”
