Charlie Sheen plays down Selma Blair feud rumours

Charlie Sheen has played down rumours suggesting Selma Blair was axed from his show Anger Management after falling out with the actor. Blair was part of the original cast of the sitcom, playing Sheen’s onscreen therapist, but left under a cloud in June (13) following speculation about a bitter feud with the show’s star.
Reports suggested Blair complained to producers about Sheen’s behaviour on set, and he allegedly dumped her from the cast in an expletive-ridden text message.
Sheen, who left his previous sitcom Two and a Half Men following a bitter public feud with its creator, has now spoken out to silence the rumours, insisting Blair’s character had to be written out for the sake of the show.
He tells U.S. talk show host Jay Leno, “One of our primary characters, Selma Blair, who played Kate, was written out because (the show) was not about our relationship, and the problem was too many people were still excited about the Two and a Half (Men) character and thought the Anger Management character was a little dull… So, um, that is not the case anymore… Her character leaves, and I (my character) start circling the drain. So it’s really fun to watch and (really) fun to play.”
