Charlize Theron and Emilia Clarke stun at the Oscars with brunette transformations

Charlize Theron and Emilia Clarke stunned on the Oscars red carpet as they debuted their major hair transformations.

The South African-born actress, who won an Academy Award for her role in Monster back in 2004, ditched her signature blonde sleek hairdo for a deep chestnut hue chopped into a chic chin-length bob.

Charlize, 43, showed off her new look at the prestigious ceremony on Sunday (24Feb19), and completed the look with a backless powder blue Dior Haute Couture gown, with Bulgari jewellery.

Hairstylist Adir Abergel shared the Mad Max star’s transformation in a post on Instagram. “Decided to chop it all off before the big moment. #cantwaittoshare #oscars2019 #hairbyadir,” he captioned the snap of him cutting Charlize’s hair.

And she wasn’t the only one to debut a new look on the red carpet.

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke also got bitten by the brunette bug, and shared her new ‘do on social media before arriving at the Oscars.

“Blondes have more fun eh?! Well I will see about that this fine #oscar2019 evening….. let the good times roll,” she captioned a snap of her in the back of a car on her way to the ceremony.
The 32-year-old Brit was wearing a sculpted lilac shimmering Balmain gown, and revealed to E! News that she actually dyed her own locks with a DIY kit hours before the Oscars.

Her fellow brunettes also wowed on the red carpet, with Best Actress winner Olivia Colman in an A-line turtleneck gown in emerald green silk created by Prada, with a smokey-grey silk organza cape with puffed sculpted sleeves.

Melissa McCarthy, who was nominated alongside Olivia on Sunday, stunned in a caped black and white jumpsuit, while Rachel Weisz wore a daring red latex and tulle dress by Givenchy.
