Cher: ‘My relationship with Chaz is better than ever’

Cher is back on good terms with her son Chaz Bono after spending several years struggling to cope with his sex change journey. The pop superstar has been open about her heartache after her daughter Chastity decided to undergo gender reassignment surgery in 2009.
Cher admitted she even kept her distance from Chaz throughout the process due to the fact she was terrified she would not recognising her child.
However, the Believe hitmaker reveals mother and son have turned a corner this year (13), and they are getting on better than they have in decades.
She tells Britain’s Notebook magazine, “We’re in the best place we’ve ever been since she was young. And I have to say ‘she’ because Chastity was a ‘she’ then and I have to make the distinction with Chaz as he is now.
“It’s starting to be nice because we’re creating memories now and we’ve actually had the most fun together lately than we’ve had in forever.”
