Chevy Chase involved in road rage altercation – report

Chevy Chase has claimed he was kicked to the ground after confronting a driver about his behaviour on the road.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ.com, the Caddyshack actor was driving across Tappan Zee Bridge in New York on 9 February (18) when a black pickup truck cut him off. He originally thought it hit his car so he flashed his high beams and followed the truck until the driver pulled over.
Chase realised no damage had been done to either vehicles but decided to still approach the driver to “speak to him about his reckless driving” and one of the driver’s three passengers gave him an offensive hand gesture.
He allegedly told them, “If I were a lot younger I’d bust your nose” and one of the passengers got out and reportedly kicked him so hard in the shoulder that he fell to the ground. Police officers cited the unnamed kicker for second degree harassment with physical contact.
In the documents, the driver reportedly claims Chase attempted to throw a punch first and the kicker was simply blocking it, while a third party witness reportedly told police he had pulled over because he didn’t want to see the 74-year-old “get his a*s stomped.”
