Captain America star Chris Evans is the latest A-list reader of the Cbeebies Bedtime Story.

The handsome star, who soared to international fame with his role as the patriotic Marvel hero, will tell the tale Even Superheroes Have Bad Days, by Shelly Becker and Eda Kaban, on the British children’s TV channel. The story aims to help advise children on how to cope when feeling overwhelmed with emotions, and Chris, 35, said in a statement he thoroughly enjoyed reading for the gig.

“I’m honored to be the next guest on CBeebies Bedtime Stories which is such a special show. I hope families have as much fun watching as I had reading!” he said.

In a promotional photo Chris can be seen sitting next to several stuffed animals, all adorned with superhero capes and masks.

His story will air on CBeebies on Wednesday 10 May (17) at 6.50pm – the perfect time for parents to tune in too.

Chris’ involvement makes him the latest Hollywood star to sign up to read a story on the show, following The Great Gatsby actress Isla Fisher, Homeland star Damian Lewis, X-Men actor James McAvoy and rugged hunk Tom Hardy.

Tom, 39, has proved so popular with viewers that he recently returned for a third story on Mother’s Day in the U.K. (26Mar17), reading the tale There’s A Bear On My Chair.

The Legend star made his debut on New Year’s Eve (31Dec16) and his follow-up came on Valentine’s Day (14Feb17). Fans loved all three of his appearances, commenting on his storytelling on social media.

One excited Twitter user wrote: “I am a 28 year old woman. I am watching CBeebies Bedtime Stories because of Tom Hardy.”
