Chris Hemsworth & Tom Hiddleston Surprise Kids At Australian Hospital

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston delighted patients and their families during a surprise visit to a children’s hospital in Australia on Tuesday (23Aug16).

The actors took time out from shooting the third installment of their superhero saga, Thor: Ragnarok, to visit patients at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane.

Chris, who plays superhero Thor, made the rounds at the hospital with Tom, who was still decked out in the all-black costume of his villainous character Loki, complete with long black hair.

The Aussie native brought along Thor’s mighty battle hammer, Mjolnir, on the visit, which gave the patients a great photo opportunity. In one picture posted by Chris on Instagram, Tom is grabbing his face in pain after seemingly being hit by a smiling young patient.

“Met the real superheroes of the world at @ladycilentochildrenshospital. A huge shout out to all the brave kids who are an inspiration to all of us! @twhiddleston,” the 33-year-old captioned the shot.

The nurses, doctors and office staff were just as excited as the children, with many snapping selfies with the handsome duo.

Calyn Hoad, a young boy battling bacterial meningitis in the hospital, was one of the patients who got a photo with the pair, and his mother Sharna was full of praise for the Hollywood stars.

“It was so awesome. Calyn’s face just lit up. It was just magic, absolute magic,” she told Australia’s ABC News. “I can’t express it any other way than saying it was magic. What brilliant men to come down.”

The visit marks Tom’s second trip to the hospital. Back in July (16), the 35-year-old Brit and his girlfriend Taylor Swift also spent an afternoon visiting patients.

Thor: Ragnarok, which also stars Idris Elba, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins, is slated for release next year (17).
