Chris Hemsworth surprises hitchhiker with helicopter ride

Chris Hemsworth has surprised a hitchhiker by giving him a helicopter ride to a beach.

The Avengers star posted a video to Instagram on Sunday (21Oct18) which showed him and his friend Luke Zocchi driving a car in Brisbane, Australia on their way back home to Byron Bay.

During the drive, they spot a guitar-toting hitchhiker named Scott Hildebrand, who tells them he’s come from Mexico and heading to the same destination. Accordingly, they invite Scott into the car, before informing him that most of the trip will be via helicopter.

“We’re going to Byron, we’ll give him a lift,” Chris says in the video, while Luke adds, “Little does he know we’re getting a chopper.”

Once Scott is inside the car, Luke can be heard saying, “We’re going to Byron, that’s where we live, bro. Let’s go surfing!”

The tourist asks, “Are you guys flying to Byron?” and Luke excitedly responds, “You’re choppering (sic) to Byron Bay, brother!”

The video then follows them as they catch the helicopter, with Chris placing the headpiece on Scott as he sits in the front passenger seat.

After arriving in Byron Bay, the Australian actor then bids Scott farewell, saying, “Alright Scotty, dream’s over, back to the normal hitchhiking, kombis (vans) and stuff mate.”

Alongside the clip, Chris wrote in the caption, “Picked up a hitchhiker, wasn’t a serial killer which we were stoked about and just happened to be a kick-a*s musician Scott Hildebrand @scotthilde.”
Scott spoke about the experience during an interview for E! News, describing it as “so cool and unexpected”.
