Chrissy Teigen freezes more eggs for future children

Pregnant model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen quietly harvested more of her eggs last year (17) in a bid to expand her family with husband John Legend.

The beauty previously underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive the couple’s first child, daughter Luna, who was born in April, 2016, and, in November (17), Chrissy announced she is expecting again.

The embryo was the couple’s third and final one from a batch of 20 eggs they had previously had frozen, and the mother-to-be has since revealed she had more eggs retrieved from her ovaries prior to the artificial insemination process in the hopes of having more kids in the future.

“You do the whole process again to try to get as many embryos and eggs as possible,” she told People magazine. “Everyone is freezing everything and then you make the embryos out of what you freeze and try to make viable, perfect embryos.”

Chrissy and John’s second child will be a boy, and the 32-year-old, who has been candid about her fertility troubles in the past, is thankful to have the advantage of medical technology to help make her baby dreams come true.

“For me, I just want to gather as many (embryos) as possible. I don’t want to do this (egg harvesting) again for the rest of my life,” she added of the stressful and costly procedure. “So it’d be nice to get a great batch of beautiful, perfect embryos and keep trying.”

Both Chrissy and John have always been keen to have a big family, and the singer previously admitted going through the IVF process brought the couple closer than ever.

“Having a baby is a big challenge for a couple, and going through that together strengthens your bond, because if you make it through (having a child), you know you can make it through anything,” John recently told America’s Cosmopolitan magazine. “I think it’s especially difficult when you can’t conceive naturally. You want to feel like everything’s working properly and want everything to be perfect, but sometimes it’s not.”
