Christie Brinkley cries over fancy stiletto ruined by escalator

Christie Brinkley was nearly brought to tears when one of her fancy stilettos become stuck in an escalator at a recent event.

The model and businesswoman made an appearance at the premiere of National Geographic film Paris to Pittsburgh at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York City on Monday night (03Dec18), but as she left the building with some friends, she suffered a major fashion disaster when one of her Christian Louboutin high heels became caught in the grate of an escalator step.

“My brand-new Christian Louboutin!” she is seen crying out while standing on the escalator in a video posted to her Instagram page. “My shoe is stuck… Nooo!”

Towards the end of the clip, the person shooting the footage zoomed-in on the shoe, which appeared to be fully stuck in the step and have its thin heel mangled.

And as a pair of Louboutin stilettos cost at least $700, it’s understandable why the blonde beauty was more than a little upset.

However, in the accompanying caption to the video, Christie displayed her humorous side and explained what happened with a series of footwear-related puns.

“It hurts my SOLE to see this agony of deFEAT ..the escalator won this time… but I’ll be back with another pair of sparklers! OH HEEL YEAH!” the 64-year-old joked. “Somebody call the police… the fashion police! There’s no business like shoe business… now what will I wear to all the Pumps and circumstance tomorrow night at the Footwear Achievement Awards! Hope you’re getting a kick out of this… actually I’m the one who needs a new kick! That pump was a real heel ..my new ARCH RIVAL! Haha! Have I PUNished you enough toe-night? Lol! Gotta laugh!”

Prior to Christie’s shoe drama, she uploaded a photo showing her posing with Martha Stewart and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg at the bash.

“An Absolutely Vital Film of our Times #paristopittsburgh is a Must See because we can make a difference and we MUST!” she wrote alongside the happy snap. “@bloombergdotorg Thank You! @marthastewart great to see you! @natgeo I love you!”
