Christie Brinkley walked the runway with her daughter Sailor Cook at Elie Tahari’s 45th anniversary show on Thursday night (07Feb19).
The veteran supermodel and her youngest child both strutted their stuff at designer Tahari’s fall/winter 2019 presentation held as part of New York Fashion Week, with the likes of Laverne Cox and Bella Thorne in attendance.
At one point, Christie and Sailor crossed paths on the catwalk and gave each other a quick high five, with the 65-year-old posting the moment on her Instagram page.
“Sailor and me on the same runway! We’re on a HIGH…Five. Thank you @elietahari for the honour of walking in your 45th-anniversary show!” she captioned the footage. “Congratulations on such an achievement. I never anticipated such a warm welcome and it really touched me! Sailor, may this be the start of an amazing adventure in this crazy wonderful industry for you it was a joy to share the runway with you!”
In the show, Sailor wore two looks, including a black ensemble pulled together with a wide belt and a dark blue velvet dress with beading on the shoulders, while her mother closed out the spectacle in an emerald green velvet suit with matching scarf.
Taking to Instagram to upload some photos, Sailor, 20, wrote along the shots, “Thank you @elietaharifor having me and my mama walk your runway today. Such an honor! And such a fun time!!”
In announcing his plans for the 45th anniversary show, Tehari explained that he was thrilled to cast the mother-daughter duo, as it would mark the first time they have walked the runway together.
“The Elie Tahari brand has always been for every woman, and that is why I’m so excited about having Christie and Sailor walk in our show because Christie is timeless, and Sailor represents the cool, on-the-go woman, who also wears our clothes,” he recently told Page Six. “It is important for me to make clothes for women of all types, inclusive of any age.”
