Clark Gable’s jacket sells at auction

A jacket worn by Clark Gable on a film set shortly before his death has sold for more than $6,500 (£4,063) at auction. The Gone with the Wind legend wore the Western-style coat during filming of The Misfits with Marilyn Monroe. He suffered a heart attack two days after the shoot wrapped in 1960 and died 10 days later at the age of 59.
The coat was entered into an RR Auction online sale and went to an anonymous bidder for $6,543 (£4,089) on Thursday (25Apr13).
The Misfits, which was released in 1961, was also Monroe’s final film – she died of a drugs overdose a year later (62).
