Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford on Expendables trilogy wish list

The Rocky legend wrote the original 2010 movie in honour of the blockbuster action films of the 1980s and ’90s, bringing in veteran tough guys Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger to play members of a mercenary group.

The sequel, also starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, will hit cinemas later this week (begs13Aug12), and producer Avi Lerner is already courting a new batch of legends to introduce in the third installment.

He tells Total Film, “We’ve approached Clint Eastwood to be one of the guys. We’ve got a character in mind for him. We’re talking to Harrison Ford. Wesley Snipes when he comes back from prison.

“I’ll give you one more name – we’ve got Nicolas Cage. We’re going to bring Mickey Rourke back, if he won’t be too crazy. I like Mickey. And of course, all the existing stars (will return).”
