Co-star and director pay tribute to Dennis Farina

Dennis Farina’s Crime Story co-star Tony Denison and Bottle Shock director Randall Miller have paid tribute to the actor following his death on Monday (22Jul13). Denison, who played Ray Luca opposite Farina’s Lt. Mike Torello on the mid-1980s TV cop show, has revealed he’s “saddened” by the loss of his pal.
He says, “It was my great pleasure to work with him on the groundbreaking series Crime Story. He will always be a significant part of my heart and history.”
And Miller, who directed Farina in 2008 winemaking drama Bottle Shock, tells WENN, “We mourn the passing of the very talented friend and colleague… Dennis Farina. We were fortunate to have had the pleasure of working with him on Bottle Shock. And what an amazing sport it was to see him in this suit! He was always a snappy dresser, he will be greatly missed.”
Meanwhile, Zooey Deschanel has been left heartbroken by Farina’s passing after working together on her hit TV comedy New Girl.
Taking to her Twitter.com page, she writes, “I am completely devastated about Dennis Farina’s passing, I was lucky to have witnessed his charm and brilliance.”
John Cusack has also remembered Farina as a “great guy and a real Chicago character”, and Ashton Kutcher tweets, “Love and light to the family and friends of Dennis Farina”.
