Condola Rashad to lead Saint Joan revival on Broadway

Broadway favourite Condola Rashad has signed on to lead the cast of an upcoming theatre revival of George Bernard Shaw’s Saint Joan.
The three-time Tony Award nominee will hit the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre stage as the historical heroine in April (18) for previews, ahead of a 25 April (18) opening.
Set in 15th century France, Saint Joan recounts the story of Joan of Arc, who claimed the voices of saints helped her drive English forces out her homeland.
Joan was was ultimately betrayed and tried for heresy.
Maryann Plunkett last portrayed Joan in New York when Saint Joan was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Revival in 1993.
Shaw wrote the play in 1923.
