Courteney Cox slammed those dragging Jennifer Aniston into Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce.

Angelina filed for divorce last week (19Sep16) after two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. She’s asking for physical custody of the couple’s six children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

One day after the shock split was announced, social media users reacted to the news by sharing Photoshopped gifs and memes of Jennifer cheering her ex-husband’s second divorce. #JenniferAniston also became the second most popular trending topic on Twitter, behind #Brangelina.

However, Jennifer’s long-time best friend Courteney Cox has slammed those dragging her former Friends co-star into the drama, and wants everyone to stop talking about it.

“It’s not about (Jennifer),” Courteney told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday (28Sep16). “I feel like we’re exacerbating it by even talking about it.”

Brad and Jennifer were married for five years before divorcing in 2005. He then got together with his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina, who he met while still married to Jennifer, and the pair tied the knot in 2014.

And Courteney isn’t the only one speaking out to defend the Horrible Bosses star. Husband Justin Theroux spoke out on Monday, slamming reports dragging his wife into Brad and Angelina’s split as “nonsense”.

“There’s an endless appetite for trash, apparently – though everyone would say that they don’t have that appetite,” the 45-year-old actor told Business Insider. “But I think a lot of people do because people buy it. But there are bigger things to b***h about. It’s shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world.”

The Girl on the Train star also related to the six Jolie-Pitt kids, as his own parents divorced when he was a child. “As a child of divorce, all I can say is that’s terrible news for those children and that’s all you can really say,” Justin shared.
