Courtney Love: ‘Nirvana catalogue is a curse’

Courtney Love is beginning to curse the day she became the guardian of her late husband Kurt Cobain’s Nirvana catalogue – because it has become a big anchor in her life. The rocker admits it’s a constant struggle to keep the tragic star’s music from grasping opportunists who would like to use the music in films and commercials.
She tells Bust magazine, “The Nirvana stuff is f**king cursed in my opinion… Somebody has to guard the gates of this thing, because you know what would happen? The second I sell (the rights), it becomes a jukebox musical, makes a billion dollars, and you’ve got jazz hands on Broadway. Or he’ll be in Gatorade commercials.
“I will never sell the f**king stakes I have in it, because no one else will bother protecting him.”
But that doesn’t mean she wants the job of being Nirvana guardian for life.
Love adds, “Some days I look at my passport and I’m like, ‘Can I just leave?’ Because it’s so much pressure.”
