Cynthia Nixon to make her stage directorial debut

Actress Cynthia Nixon is set to make her stage directorial debut with playwright Joel Drake Johnson’s Rasheeda Speaking. Edward Scissorhands star Dianne Wiest and Enchanted’s Tonya Pinkins will star in the play, which will centre on two friends who are pitted against each other when one of their jobs is put in jeopardy by their boss.
The stage show will premiere in January (15) in New York.
Nixon has enjoyed huge acting success on Broadway – since her debut in 1980 in the revival of The Philadelphia Story, her credits have included The Real Thing, Hurlyburly, Wit, Indiscretions, The Women and Rabbit Hole, for which she won a Tony Award.
