Daft Punk land first-ever U.K. chart topping single

House music superstars Daft Punk have landed their first-ever song atop the U.K. singles chart thanks to their Pharrell Williams collaboration Get Lucky. Rudimental and Ella Eyre’s Waiting All Night drops to two and thatPower by will.i.am and Justin Bieber falls to three.
I Need Your Love by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding rises to four, and Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore, Ryan Lewis and Ray Dalton jumps to five.
In the U.K. albums chart, Michael Buble’s To Be Loved holds onto the number one spot, while Frank Turner’s Tape Deck Heart enters in second place. Willpower by will.i.am debuts in third and Pink’s The Truth About Love holds steady at four.
Meanwhile, Emeli Sande goes down in history this week – her 2012 album Our Version Of Events, which rounds out the top five, breaks The Beatles’ U.K. chart record for most consecutive weeks in the Top 10. The album has spent a staggering 63 weeks in the Top 10, beating The Beatles’ Please Please Me, which spent 62 weeks.
