Dakota Johnson has admitted to giving Angelina Jolie a “sly” glance when Jennifer Aniston took to the stage at the 2018 Golden Globes.

In spite of Jennifer divorcing Brad Pitt over 12 years ago, Dakota was apparently keen to see how Angelina reacted to seeing her estranged partner’s former spouse onstage during the ceremony on 7 January (18), after which a photo of the Fifty Shades Freed star taking a side-eyed look in Angelina’s direction went viral.

While Dakota has tried to avoid talking about the awkward snap since the event, she shared during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night (29Jan18) that she couldn’t help but sneak a tiny look at Angelina.

“I was trying to be sly about it,” she shared, going on to add that Armie Hammer’s wife Elizabeth Chambers made a much more obvious glance toward the Tomb Raider star. “I’m not the only one. Elizabeth is very blatantly looking at her. She’s like, ‘What is she going to do?'”

Dakota went on to explain that she was actually more interested in seeing what the cast members of the Netflix show Stranger Things were doing at the “kids’ table” on the night. And she even tried to take a photo of the young stars, which include Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown, even though she dislikes it when people try and take covert snaps of her.

“I really love Stranger Things so much,” the 28-year-old said, explaining that she was determined to get a secret video of them over the course of the night. “It’s the thing I hate the most, when people are in restaurants or whatever and they try to take sneaky photos of you. So, I did that at the Golden Globes, but was trying to take a video of these kids!”

Following the interview, host Jimmy challenged Dakota to a round of Think Fast!, a game in which the participants take turns at asking each other random questions and immediately answering them with the first thing that pops into their heads before time runs out.
