Dan Nainan arrested over scuffle – report

Funnyman Dan Nainan has been arrested after clashing with a journalist over controversial posts on Twitter.com, according to a report. Stand-up comic Nainan was performing at the Funniest Celebrity in Washington contest on Wednesday (25Sep13) when The Daily Beast correspondent Josh Rogin took to the social networking site to give his thoughts on the routine.
Rogin was unimpressed with Nainan’s gags, tweeting, “Dan Nainan was funny until he dusted off his 2005 Katrina jokes in a gratingly bad GWB (George W. Bush) impression… Dan Nainan makes his umpteenth joke about how Asians cant (sic) distinguish between letters “L” and “R”. Election, erection, we get it.”
It appears the messages might have been relayed back to the star, sparking a confrontation, because minutes later Rogin added, “Dan Nainan just punched me in the face. Not a joke.”
Police officers attended following the incident at the event in Washington, D.C. and arrested Nainan for assault, according to The Washington Post. It was unclear whether he was still in custody as WENN went to press.
