Dan Reynolds turns to counselling to strengthen marriage after split

Imagine Dragons star Dan Reynolds and his wife have turned to counselling to keep their relationship strong following a split last year (18).
The Believer singer and Aja Volkman separated in April, 2018 and spent months apart before reconciling at the beginning of 2019, and now the rocker and gay rights activist tells People the couple is still working through a series of issues with a therapist.
“We’ve been going through marriage counselling and putting in a lot of work to keep our family strong,” Reynolds, who wed Aja in 2011, says. “Fortunately for us, we worked through it.”
He adds, “No relationship is perfect. Sometimes it doesn’t work out and that’s OK. Sometimes people separate for a little bit and they end up deciding to get back together and that’s OK. We have this obsession with perfection right now. I think that’s really dangerous because then everybody has false expectations and hopes for this beautiful, perfect marriage or life partner, and it’s just going to be perfect – and that’s just not the case.
“I walked into relationships with this false notion that if it’s not all perfect and there’s arguments, then maybe you’re not with the right person. That’s just not the way it works.”
