Daniel Craig auctioning off custom Aston Martin

Daniel Craig is auctioning off his special edition Aston Martin to benefit charity.

Bosses at Aston Martin made the Skyfall star a custom Vanquish in 2014, when 100 models were produced to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company. The car’s model number is 007, Bond’s code number.

“It was an homage, really, to his career,” Becky MacGuire, director of auction Christie’s The Exceptional Sale, says. “What he’s brought to the Bond character has been so appreciated by the company and, of course, zillions of fans.”

Aston Martin vehicles have appeared in the spy films since the 1960s and Craig has driven one of the sports cars in all four films he has appeared in.

Craig’s Vanquish is estimated to sell for between $400,000 and $600,000 and proceeds from the auction will benefit charity The Opportunity Network, which helps fund disadvantaged children’s college dreams. Craig and his wife, actress Rachel Weisz, are members of the organization’s board of directors.
