Dave Grohl salutes doctor who fixed his broken leg at Swedish gig

Dave Grohl gave the doctor who treated his broken leg a special shout-out at a Foo Fighters festival gig in Sweden at the weekend (29Jun19).
The rocker was singing the band’s My Hero when he spotted Dr. Johan Sampson in the crowd at Lollapalooza, and told fans he was the guy who fixed him up after he fell from the stage during a concert in Gothenburg back in 2015.
The injury forced Grohl to pull out of a headlining slot at Britain’s Glastonbury festival that summer, and he completed the group’s tour commitments sitting in a custom-made throne.
Identifying Dr. Sampson in the crowd, Grohl made it clear the medic was his hero and urged fans to “sing it (song) to him”.
The doctor was then lifted up by fans and crowdsurfed to the stage, where he hugged Grohl.
