David Cassidy falls offstage at penultimate California gig

David Cassidy’s penultimate gig left fans in California stunned and concerned for the singer’s welfare on Saturday night (18Feb17) as he slurred his words and fell offstage.
The former The Partridge Family idol, 66, appeared to be struggling with an ongoing drinking problem as he performed at The Canyon Club in Agoura.
In fan-shot video from the gig, which has gone viral, the singer appears to be intoxicated, while in one clip obtained by TMZ, he stumbles onstage and then falls backwards.
A representative for the star has yet to respond to requests for comment, but it appears the show may be one of Cassidy’s last – he told fans during the gig that he’s retiring, suggesting a show at the Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara, California on Sunday (19Feb17) would be his last on America’s west coast.
He previously told the Santa Barbara Independent newspaper, “I just got to a point that my body, after 49 years, was beat up by working and traveling and touring from all over the world.”
Cassidy has battled alcohol abuse problems for years and he was arrested for driving under the influence in separate incidents in 2010, 2013, and 2014. He has also attended rehab to seek treatment for his issues.
