David Leitch a frontrunner to direct Deadpool 2

John Wick co-director David Leitch has emerged as the favourite to take over the new Deadpool sequel following Tim Miller’s recent exit.
Miller, who directed this year’s (16) blockbuster smash Deadpool, had been developing the script for a planned follow-up, although he had yet to sign a formal deal to take charge of the filming process, too.
However, he parted ways with studio bosses at 20th Century Fox last week (ends23Oct16) amid reports of creative differences with leading man Ryan Reynolds, who also served as a producer on the project.
It was speculated casting decisions and budget issues prompted Miller to walk away.
Now multiple reports indicate Leitch is in the running to take on Deadpool 2, which will feature Reynolds’ return as the Marvel anti-hero. An official offer has yet to be made.
Leitch, who directed John Wick with Chad Stahelski, recently wrapped filming on Charlize Theron’s upcoming thriller, The Coldest City, after serving as second unit director on blockbusters like Jurassic World and Captain America: Civil War.
He rose to prominence as a stunt performer and co-ordinator, contributing to movies such as Blade, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Matrix franchise, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, on which he first worked with Reynolds.
Leitch was also Brad Pitt’s stunt double in Fight Club, Ocean’s Eleven, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
