Comedian David Spade has been robbed of $80,000 (£62,000) in valuables after burglars broke into his Beverly Hills, California home and made off with his safe.
The heist reportedly took place over the weekend (03-04Jun17), when the suspects gained entry into Spade’s property and managed to remove his personal safe, which was filled with cash and jewellery, according to TMZ.com.
Among the items stored in the strongbox included a wedding ring, which belonged to Spade’s mother.
Officers from the Beverly Hills Police Department were spotted outside the Grown Ups star’s house on Monday (05Jun17).
Sources tell TMZ Spade’s home is armed with a security system, which had been activated, but it appeared to have been disabled by the burglars. Spade has yet to comment on the incident.
He is the latest celebrity to fall victim to burglars in and around Hollywood in recent months – Creed star Michael B. Jordan’s San Fernando Valley home was targeted, while Alanis Morissette, newlywed Shameless star Emmy Rossum, actress Jaime Pressly, rapper Nicki Minaj, and Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend Scott Disick have also lost valuables and belongings.
