The 46-year-old actress and her husband Julius Tennon became parents earlier this month (Oct11) when they became parents to a 14-month-old little girl called Genesis.
The new mother celebrated by throwing a party over the weekend and guests included The West Wing actress Allison Janney, who tells E! Online, “(Genesis is the) most adorable little girl. She didn’t cry once the whole baby shower. She was so happy… (I bought them) six or seven different (presents)… And I got a card for Julius, Viola’s husband, that says, ‘I recommend vodka’ on the card. That man has been a father before and has grown kids, so now he’s starting over. He’s the sweetest man on the planet and they’re the nicest couple.”
A number of Davis’ The Help co-stars, including Emma Stone and Octavia Spencer, were also guests at the bash.
Spencer says of her friend, “Viola Davis deserves all of the happiness that the Good Lord could bestow on her. She and Julius are two of the best people I know, so to know that this is something that she’s always wanted and she has it now, it makes me thrilled for her.”
