Dead & Company plan summer tour weeks after John Mayer’s appendectomy drama

Rockers Dead & Company have lined up a massive summer tour just weeks after John Mayer’s emergency appendectomy forced the group to postpone its last dates of 2017.
The 40-year-old singer was taken to a hospital in New Orleans ahead of the band’s gig in the city on 5 December (17) to undergo an operation to remove his appendix, and the group was forced to axe three shows.
The Daughters hitmaker has since taken to Twitter to apologise for the cancelled shows and to thank fans for their supportive messages.
The band has rescheduled the shows in New Orleans and Florida for February (18), and now Mayer has announced he is heading back out on the road with the former members of the Grateful Dead for a summer tour that begins in Mansfield, Massachusetts at the end of May (18).
The trek includes stops at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and two-night stands at New York’s Citi Field and the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California.
It will wrap up with two shows in Boulder, Colorado in mid-July.
