Dean Cain keen for Lois & Clark revival to conclude Superman’s story

Dean Cain would love the opportunity to star in a fifth series of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman.
The 50-year-old actor starred as the Man of Steel in the hit U.S. TV show from 1993 to 1997. The programme came to an end after the fourth season, with viewers left on a cliffhanger after Dean and Teri Hatcher’s titular characters found a baby wrapped in a Superman blanket after discovering they couldn’t have children.
And despite the fact that the series came to an end 20 years ago, Dean is still keen for a revival, so that he is able to conclude his alter-ego’s tale.
“We ended our show after four seasons in a weird way because we’re supposed to do a fifth season,” Dean told Australia’s 7 News Sydney. “Teri got pregnant in between and couldn’t work on that fifth season, so they decided to shut it down. I would have liked to have done that fifth season – I think we still need a fifth season – so I’m hoping that we get a chance to maybe finish up the series.”
While Teri went on to enjoy a successful career with roles in TV shows such as Desperate Housewives, Dean made a name for himself in TV movies.
But when it comes to a potential Lois & Clark revival, Dean is up for a return in whatever capacity – whether it’s “10 episodes”, “six episodes” or even just “a two-hour movie”.
“I think it would be really interesting to catch up with these two characters 20 years down the line and see what’s happened in their lives,” he mused. “(To find out) if they have had children or what’s going on with their kids… I think it’s really interesting and I’m certainly willing to (do it).”
Dean’s admission came after he and Teri reunited at the Supernova Comic Con and Gaming Expo in Australia last weekend (17-18Jun17). The pair took part in a panel discussion at the event, before letting off some steam by climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Sharing a snap of herself and Dean at the top of the bridge, with her co-star in his traditional Superman pose, Teri wrote: “Soaring together again. So fun to reunite. Thanks to #bridgeclimbsydney. #loisandclark #deancain.”
