Demi Lovato: ‘Wilmer Valderrama is more passionate than my white ex-boyfriends’

Demi Lovato insists her actor boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama is much more passionate than her past partners.
The Cool For The Summer star has been dating the Colombian/Venezuelan star on-and-off for the past five years, but prior to that she counted singer Joe Jonas among her past lovers.
And in a new interview with Latina magazine, Demi, who is half-Mexican, admits her relationship with Wilmer is unlike any other she’s had before, thanks to his Latino heritage.
“When I dated white guys, it wasn’t as passionate as my relationship with Wilmer,” she tells the publication. “Maybe that’s just Wilmer. But I do believe that Latin people are just more expressive, more passionate with their emotions. He’s very manly, and he can be stubborn like Latino men can, but he’s protective and he cares so much and loves so hard. I’ve been blessed enough to have him in my life, and not just as my man, but also my best friend.”
And Demi, 23, has been open about how much of a support system Wilmer, 36, has been to her over the years, especially during her struggles with drugs and an eating disorder.
“I’ve been my heaviest in my relationship with Wilmer and also been my thinnest,” she explains. “He’s seen it all and loves me equally, and it gives me confidence to know that.”
