Derek Jeter is a dad

Retired baseball great Derek Jeter and his model wife Hannah have welcomed a baby girl.
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue beauty Hannah Davis gave birth to a daughter named Bella Raine Jeter on Thursday (17Aug17).
The announcement was made in a Friday (18Aug17) Twitter post via The Players’ Tribune, the sports media platform Derek founded in 2014.
The tweet read: “Congratulations Derek and @hannahbjeter on the birth of your baby girl, Bella Raine Jeter, born Thursday, Aug. 17.”
The tot is the couple’s first.
Hannah announced her pregnancy in February (17), in a piece written for The Players’ Tribune.
“Big moments also have a funny way of making you look ahead,” she wrote. “Now, pregnant with our first child, Derek and I are looking to the future.”
In the article, the model admitted Derek had already chosen a name for their baby girl, although it’s not clear if Bella is the one he had suggested.
She added, “He already has a name in mind – he’s set on it. (We’ll see.) He’ll say when he calls me during the day: ‘So, how are you and so-and-so doing?’ (and I’ll reply), ‘That’s not the name yet, sweetie.’ Whatever her name is, I know she’ll run circles around him.”
Hannah also indicated the couple was planning to add to its brood in future: “We want our kids’ lives to be as ‘normal’ as possible,” she shared. “They’re going to be born into such an extraordinary situation. They’re going to have to be some strong little people.”
The former New York Yankees legend, once one of America’s most eligible bachelors, became engaged to Hannah in 2015 after almost four years of dating, and they wed in Napa Valley, California in July, 2016.
