Diane Farr’s daughter hospitalised with rattle snake bite

DIANE FARR’s daughter has been admitted to hospital after she was bitten by a rattle snake while attending a summer camp.
The Numb3rs actress’ six-year-old child Coco was at a camp in Altadena, California on Monday (06Jul15) when the venomous reptile caught her and she was taken to a nearby emergency room.
Farr insists the quick-thinking camp counsellors potentially saved her daughter’s life.
She tells People.com. “She felt something that hurt her leg and when she turned around, she saw the rattlesnake backing away from her… I think the counsellors probably saved her life because they were super well-trained and knew the protocol. The counselor picked her up immediately – which would prevent the venom from spreading if she wasn’t moving – and they laid her out on a table. They called me at my office and told me she’d been bitten – they weren’t sure if it was a rattlesnake at that time – and the ambulance was on the way.
“After Coco got in the ambulance, all of the counsellors stood in a circle shoulder to shoulder with their backs facing in and walked until they found the snake. The most important thing when you get to the E.R. is to know what kind of snake bit you so they can give you the right anti-venom… After she leaves the paediatric intensive care unit, she will go into just the paediatric floor for the day and then for two weeks we watch for any symptoms of what would go wrong afterwards.”
Coco is now doing well and had undergone therapy to ensure she avoids developing a phobia of snakes after the incident.
