Director David Zucker’s divorce petition at risk of dismissal

Airplane! writer/director David Zucker has been warned his divorce petition will be dismissed if he fails to finalise the three-year-old case.
Zucker, who also co-created The Naked Gun franchise, moved to end his marriage to wife Danielle in the summer of 2016, revealing they had already been separated for almost 10 years.
In his original motion, he was seeking joint legal custody of their then-teenage children, Charles and Sarah, although he wanted to be granted primary physical custody.
Little progress on the divorce proceedings has been made, and now Zucker and his estranged wife have been told they must either file a judgement or dismissal request, or appear before a court official on 6 May (19).
If they don’t take any action and skip the hearing, they face being fined and having their divorce papers thrown out of court.
The couple wed in 1997.
