Two of Disney’s major releases of 2001 (or not so major) will be returning to the big screen this Labor Day weekend. Both Pearl Harbor and the animated feature Atlantis will hit theaters yet again in wide release, as only two films–“O”
and Jeepers Creepers–debut over the three-day holiday weekend.
According to Variety, Disney’s president of distribution, Chuck Viane, feels confident that the lack of competition bodes well for the re-releases.
“Historically, we’ve come back on Labor Day weekend (because) the market always seems open to bring back some favorites from the season,” Viane explained.
