Dita Von Teese files lawsuit against insurance company

Dita Von Teese has filed a $100,000 (£66,660) lawsuit against an insurance company over a cancelled New York show. The burlesque performer was scheduled to dance and strip at a club in the Big Apple last October (12), but the show was cancelled as Hurricane Sandy slammed the U.S. east coast and she claims insurers at Momentous Insurance Brokerage failed to provide her with the proper coverage, according to TMZ.com.
She claims she spent $96,920 (£64,613) in preparation costs for the show and was never reimbursed.
In a new lawsuit, Von Teese’s lawyer Keith Fink insists his client should have been sold non-appearance insurance, which covers unexpected occurrences like natural disasters.
