DMX returns to stage four days after collapse

Rapper DMX returned to the stage on Thursday night (11Feb16), just four days after collapsing outside a New York hotel.
The X Gon’ Give It To Ya star, real name Earl Simmons, was hospitalised early on Monday (08Feb16) after he was found unconscious in a Ramada Inn parking lot in Yonkers.
Police responding to the emergency performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to revive him, and he was taken to a nearby medical centre for further treatment.
Rumours suggested the 45-year-old, who was discharged on Tuesday (09Feb16), had suffered a drug overdose, but his representative played down the incident by insisting DMX had suffered an asthma attack.
He has yet to personally comment on the claims, but he brushed off the health emergency to resume his concert commitments with a gig at The Lively nightclub in Manhattan on Thursday.
The performance marked his first public appearance since his hospitalisation and, according to TMZ.com, he showed no signs of illness as he put on an hour-long show for fans.
Shortly after news of DMX’s collapse hit headlines on Monday, his longtime friend and producer Swizz Beatz took to social media to assure fans his pal was on the mend.
“Just got off the phone with the DOG,” he wrote on Twitter. “He’s good and in great spirits Thanks for all the blessings @Dmx the Great!”
DMX previously suffered an asthma attack during an arrest in South Carolina in 2013. Paramedics were called to the scene to check him over before he was taken into custody.
