Emma Thompson was once a wooed by President Donald Trump.
The actress, who has been married to actor Greg Wise since 2003, has revealed the future leader of the free world once tried to charm her into going on a date with him, while she was filming 1998 movie Primary Colors.
The Beauty and the Beast actress was in her trailer on set when Trump called.
Emma was far from happy with the private call, telling a Scandinavian TV show, “It was like a moose has just entered my trailer.”
Trump offered her “some accommodation in one of my Trump Towers“, adding, “They’re really comfortable”, before suggesting that he and the British star “would get on very well”, and “Maybe we could have dinner sometime”.
She promised, “I’ll get back to you”, but the date never happened.
She still regrets not going for dinner with the property tycoon, adding, “Think of the stories!”
Trump didn’t wait for Emma – he met his future wife Melania later that year.
Ironically, Emma played politician Governor Jack Stanton’s wife in Primary Colors. John Travolta portrayed Stanton.
