Dove Cameron will be making her London stage debut in a new production of musical The Light In The Piazza.
The singer and actress has been cast alongside American opera singer Renee Fleming in the show, which has a book by Craig Lucas and lyrics by Adam Guettel.
The ’50s-set story follows Margaret Johnson, a wealthy Southern woman, and her daughter Clara, who is disabled due to an unfortunate encounter with a pony, and a summer they spend together in Italy.
“She’s blonde, she’s vivacious. She’s everything Adam was envisaging for the role,” Renee told The Daily Mail of her co-star.
Dove, who showed off her Broadway skills in 2016’s Hairspray Live!, is a big fan of her latest project, and the 22-year-old often tweets about her love for the musical.
The Light in the Piazza will have a limited run of 20 shows at London’s Royal Festival Hall from 14 June until 5 July (19). Tickets go on sale next week (begs12Nov18).
