Robert Downey Jr. appeared at a mandatory court hearing Tuesday in Indio, Calif., as part of his three-year probation, CNN reports.
The actor, after pleading no contest to drug possession charges last July in Palm Springs, Calif., has been living in a 24-hour drug rehabilitation residence in Malibu where he’s required to stay for one year.
Downey‘s lawyer, James Epstein, described the probation report as “fantastic” and added, “[Downey] is ready to be cured, ready for help and doing great.”

Superior Court Judge Randall White also gave accolades to the actor, telling him to “keep up the good work.”
Downey, who is scheduled for another court appearance July 19, is also planning to begin production on a new movie with Mel Gibson in April.
