Drake’s Views tops iTunes chart in U.K. and U.S.

Drake’s brand new album has shot straight to the top of the iTunes charts in the U.K. and in the U.S.
The Canadian rapper’s new album Views was released exclusively on Apple Music and iTunes, and within hours it had topped their influential download charts.
The highly anticipated new record features production work from Kanye West and Southside, and appearances from frequent collaborators Rihanna and rapper Future.
Drake’s fourth studio album – his longest with 20 tracks – includes his first U.K. number one single One Dance featuring Wizkid and Kyla, and Pop Style with Kanye and Jay Z who appear collectively as The Throne.
On Thursday (29Apr16) night the Toronto native gave a wide-ranging interview to Beats 1 DJ Zane Lowe before his global listening party for the new album kicked off on Apple Music. During the interview he discussed his strained relationships with former collaborator Nicki Minaj and sometime mentor Jay.
On the night before the album’s release, Drake wrote a long thank you note to his producer Noah “40” Shebib on Instagram, which read: “Before we do this I just wanna say thanks man. Thank you for the years you spent working with some of Toronto’s true legends honing your craft. Thanks you for dropping everything to work with me after we met and realized we had something special.
“Thank you for pushing yourself despite the fact you should be resting to achieve an end goal that we are both obsessed with. Thank you for listening to me vent and talking me off ledges.”
“Thank you for reminding me that we set out to do something more than just have the biggest song in the club or the biggest song of the month.”
