Grammy Award-winning composer and drummer Ricky Lawson has been hospitalised after suffering a stroke. The percussionist, who has worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Phil Collins and Earth, Wind & Fire, was reportedly in the middle of a weekend (14-15Dec13) concert in the U.S. when he collapsed.
Further details about Lawson’s condition were unavailable as WENN went to press, but singer Sheryl Crow has since sent her best wishes to Lawson via Twitter.com.
Taking to her blog on Monday (16Dec13), she writes, “Sending prayers to Ricky Lawson after suffering a stroke. Wonderful drummer, beautiful person. We’re all saying a prayer for you.”
