Dua Lipa fronts new Pepe Jeans campaign

Dua Lipa’s latest fashion project has seen her team up with Pepe Jeans.

The British singer, who recently won two awards at the 2019 Grammys, is big news in the style world too.

She’s previously joined forces with Adidas, Italian brand Patrizia Pepe, Foot Locker and H&M-owned brand /Nyden, for whom she co-designed a line, and now Pepe Jeans has sought out her modelling skills for its new campaign.

“It’s a British brand and I feel like it has kind of followed me through my life,” she revealed in a chat with British Vogue. “I remember when I was younger seeing the campaigns – featuring Sienna Miller and Alexa Chung – women who are really iconic, and I’d see them on posters and on the side of buses.

“It like a very natural collaboration.”

Shot by celebrity snapper David Sims, the black and white images see Dua pose in a number of denim looks, such as jeans, shirts and jackets. All the pieces have been made using new eco-technologies, in line with the brand’s sustainable denim manufacturing push, the Tru-Blu programme.

In the accompanying video, Dua sings along to her song Thinking ’bout You.

Talking about her own personal style, the 23-year-old says she’s comfortable to mix things up.
“Experimenting and trying out styles, without being afraid of fashion,” smiled the New Rules hitmaker, adding that she wants to make “fashion feel like something that’s accessible to everyone”.
