Duchess of Cambridge silences pregnancy rumours with wine tasting

Prince William’s wife Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge dispelled rumours she is pregnant with the couple’s second child on Sunday (13Apr14) by sipping on wine during a visit to a vineyard in New Zealand.

The couple is currently on a royal tour Down Under and on Saturday (12Apr14), the Prince sparked speculation the new parents were preparing to welcome a sibling for their eight-month-old son Prince George. As he accepted a knitted shawl as a gift for his son from a well wisher, William said, “You might have to make another one soon”, a comment which prompted rumours suggesting the Duchess was expecting again.

However, Catherine put to rest the baby claims on Sunday as they visited the Amisfield Vineyard, where the royal couple each enjoyed a glass of pinot noir. Recalling the Duchess’ visit, fellow vineyard visitor Hannah Armstrong from Mudhouse Wines says, “Kate said she hadn’t drunk whilst pregnant with George and although she doesn’t drink much, she was really enjoying the odd glass.”

Catherine’s wine tasting would appear to dismiss the pregnancy rumours as women are generally advised not to consume alcohol while expecting.
