Dwayne Johnson’s Jumanji sequel keeps new releases off the top of U.S. box office

Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart’s new comedy action movie Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is the king of the North American box office for a third week.
The blockbuster kept three new releases off the top of the countdown jungle with an estimated $19.75 million (GBP14.25 million) weekend haul.
The film has now made over $316 million (GBP228 million) in North America in five weeks.
Chris Hemsworth’s war movie 12 Strong debuts in second place with $16.2 million (GBP11.7 million) – $1 million (GBP720,000) more than Den of Thieves, which features Gerard Butler and 50 Cent as the leaders of a gang of bankrobbers.
Steven Spielberg’s The Post comes in fourth and The Greatest Showman rounds out the top five in its fifth week on release.
Paddington 2, The Commuter, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Insidious: The Last Key, and Forever My Girl complete the new top 10.
The new Star Wars sequel has now shot past the $600 million (GBP433 million) mark in North America.
