Dylan Farrow heartbroken by brother’s attack

Mia Farrow and Woody Allen’s adopted daughter Dylan has been left heartbroken by remarks made by her brother Moses, dismissing her allegations she was molested by the filmmaker as a child. Dylan Farrow went public with accusations she first made over 20 years ago in a New York Times blog article published on Saturday (01Feb14). In the piece, she alleged her director father had sexually abused her when she was seven.
Allen’s publicist and lawyer jumped to the star’s defence and even Moses, his adopted son with ex-wife Mia Farrow, took the filmmaker’s side, accusing his estranged mother of poisoning her children into believing the molestation claims.
The 36 year old, who is now a family therapist, said, “Of course Woody did not molest my sister. She loved him and looked forward to seeing him when he would visit. She never hid from him until our mother succeeded in creating the atmosphere of fear and hate towards him.”
Dylan admitted Moses’ attack had come as a “shocking betrayal”, and she has now poured out her emotions in a detailed response in People magazine.
She tells the publication, “I knew there were people saying I was a liar and that this was part of some smear campaign – some bitter vendetta of my mother’s. (But) I didn’t realise that it was going to be a betrayal of this magnitude.
“My brother has broken my heart. Moses divorced himself from the family a long time ago. I always missed him. I loved him and I kept him in my thoughts. These lies – this betrayal – is unfathomable to me coming from a brother I loved and cherished and grew up with.
“He has betrayed me in the cruelest way imaginable, and betrayed my family and my mother who has loved him since day one. His betrayal is the lowest form of evil that I could ever imagine.”
And Dylan reveals her mum, Rosemary’s Baby star Mia, was just as shocked by Moses’ comments: “She was stunned. She couldn’t believe that he betrayed her and me and the family like this. Her reaction is on par with mine.”
Dylan’s original claims were investigated after they surfaced in 1992, but no charges were ever filed.
Allen is planning to address the molestation accusations in his own New York Times piece.
