Eastwood honoured in Los Angeles

The Dirty Harry star, 81, was the focus of the inaugural LACMA Art + Film Gala and he was honoured along with artist John Baldessari.

The event was co-chaired by Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio, the star of Eastwood’s latest film J. Edgar, about FBI director John Edgar Hoover.

Chow told reporters at the event, “Clint Eastwood is such an amazing filmmaker. I can’t think of anyone who can cross over between the front and back of the camera at the level he’s been doing it for most of his life. I think he represents the word ‘cool,’ and I can’t believe we are fortunate enough to honour him at our first gala.”
