Actor Ed Helms is stepping behind the camera to work with a U.S. TV network after launching his own production company. The Hangover star has inked a two-year development deal with Universal Television.
The network’s vice president Bela Bajaria says, “We are such fans of Ed Helms from his body of work as an actor but we have always been impressed by his instincts and interest in producing.”
The funnyman and his team at Pacific Electric Picture Co. have already lined up their first project – a comedy about an attorney who loses her job and fiance on the same day.
The deal reunites Helms with bosses at the same studio he spent seven seasons with while starring in the U.S. version of The Office.
