Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber stay on top of U.K. singles chart

Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s new collaboration I Don’T Care is at the top of the U.K. singles chart for a second week.
Their new song, the lead track from Ed’s forthcoming album No.6 Collaborations Project, is unmoved at the summit of Friday’s (24May19) Official Charts Company rundown, keeping Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road in second place.
Scottish rising star Lewis Capaldi has had a huge sales week, with two tracks in the top five; Someone You Loved ranked at three, while Hold Me While You Wait is at number five. Sandwiched between them at four is Stormzy’s Vossi Bop.
Lewis’s debut collection, Divinely Uninspired to A Hellish Extent, tops the album chart, beating Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next to become the top selling album of the year so far.
Speaking to OfficialCharts.com, the delighted singer-songwriter said, “It feels good. It feels like I’m going to make some money finally, after years of slogging. It makes me so proud to have made this album. Thank you for everyone who went out and bought it.”
He added a statement, which reads: “I have the number one album in the U.K. and it’s not only the fastest selling album of the year, but also the biggest debut of the year. I cannot wait to tell my mother because maybe then she’ll be able to look me in the eyes. Thank you so much for going out and buying it and making the album this massive.
“This is mad, man. I’m quite glad I’ll be able to stave off unemployment for at least two years, I think, so thank you very much for keeping me employed. It looks like I won’t be getting dropped by the record label just yet either. All joking aside, thank you so much – this is wild!”
The top four spots are all new entries, with U.S. indie rockers The National’s I Am Easy at two, German metal veterans Rammstein’s self-titled record in third place, and Tyler, the Creator’s Igor at four. Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? completes the top five.
